As a hairdresser who specialises in looking after clients with all kinds of hair loss, I have seen firsthand the effects of chemotherapy on hair. Chemotherapy is a powerful treatment that is used to kill cancer cells, but unfortunately, it can also damage healthy cells, including hair follicles. This can lead to hair loss, which can be a distressing side effect for many patients.

The good news is that hair loss from chemotherapy is usually temporary, and hair will often start to grow back once treatment is finished. However, it can take several months for hair to regrow, and when it does, it may be different in texture, colour, and thickness than before. In some cases, hair may grow back curly or straight, or it may be a different colour than before.

During chemotherapy, it is important to ta

ke care of your hair and scalp to minimise damage and promote healthy regrowth. This includes using gentle shampoos and conditioners, avoiding heat styling tools, and protecting your scalp from the sun and cold weather. You may also want to consider wearing a wig or hairpiece to help you feel more confident and comfortable during treatment.

After chemotherapy, it is important to continue taking care of your hair and scalp to promote healthy regrowth. This includes using gentle products, avoiding harsh chemicals and heat styling tools, and protecting your scalp from the sun and cold weather. You may also want to consider getting a haircut or trim to help your hair look and feel healthier as it grows back.

At my private hair studio in Sydney, I specialise in looking after clients with all kinds of hair loss, including those who have undergone chemotherapy. I provide a range of services, including wigs, toppers, extensions, and hair cutting an

d styling for post-chemo hair. I understand how important it is to feel confident and comfortable with your hair, and I am committed to helping my clients look and feel their best.

If you are undergoing chemotherapy and are concerned about hair loss, or if you have already finished treatment and are looking for help with regrowth and styling, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I would be happy to discuss your options and help you find the best solution for your needs.
